Smoked Mackerel Pâté

This one is something of a legend at The Fish Shop. Our homemade Smoked Mackerel Pâté is one of our biggest sellers and has built up a seriously loyal following over the years. In fact, when a new customer asks to try it, we usually warn them first - 'Are you sure? It does have particularly addictive properties, there's no going back!'

We make it ourselves in our kitchen, starting with Moxon’s superb smoked mackerel. Each fish is carefully skinned and boned before being blended with cream cheese, fresh lemon juice, parsley and a good dollop of horseradish sauce. We keep plenty of texture in the finished pâté, so you still get that lovely smoky mackerel character rather than a completely smooth paste.

Rich, creamy, smoky and ridiculously moreish, it’s fabulous piled generously onto warm crusty bread, toast or crackers, makes a very easy starter or lunch, and is equally at home as part of a big picky spread.

Just don’t say we didn’t warn you.
