You won't find our sashimi-grade 'suitable for sashimi' tuna on our fish counter.

Our sashimi-grade Yellowfin Tuna is sourced specifically for customers who wish to enjoy it raw and is handled separately from our fresh fish throughout its journey to the shop. To maintain its quality and integrity, it is stored in a dedicated refrigerator and prepared with particular care.

With its deep ruby-red colour, firm texture and clean, delicate flavour, Yellowfin Tuna is one of the world's most popular fish for sushi, sashimi, poke bowls and tartare. The flesh is wonderfully lean and beautifully textured, making it equally suited to slicing thinly for sashimi or cutting into thicker pieces for nigiri and hand rolls.

Whether you're creating a sushi feast at home or simply exploring the world of raw seafood, Yellowfin Tuna is often where the journey begins.

Beautifully simple, wonderfully versatile and one of the world's great sashimi fish.

Did You Know...
Unlike many fish, tuna are capable of maintaining a body temperature higher than the surrounding water, helping them swim faster and hunt more efficiently. Yellowfin Tuna are among the most powerful fish in the ocean and can travel thousands of miles during their lifetime in search of food and favourable conditions.

The rich red colour of tuna comes from high levels of myoglobin, the same oxygen-carrying protein found in red meat. This is why tuna has a texture and appearance that many people compare to a fine steak.

One of the fastest fish in the sea and one of the most prized on the plate.

Although our sashimi-grade tuna can be enjoyed raw, many customers actually cook it.

The key is to keep it simple and avoid overcooking. A very hot pan and a quick sear on each side will leave the centre beautifully pink and preserve the wonderful texture that makes tuna so special.

One of our favourite ways to enjoy it is tucked into soft tacos with avocado, crunchy slaw, fresh coriander and a squeeze of lime. In fact, Taco Tuesday has become something of a tradition amongst #TeamFish!

Yellowfin Tuna is also fantastic in poke bowls, Asian-inspired salads or simply sliced over rice with soy sauce, sesame and spring onions.

Whether served raw or lightly cooked, it's a wonderfully versatile fish that's guaranteed to impress.

Cook it your way - just don't overcook it.

Allow 200g per person Because our tuna is sashimi grade it has been frozen. It is therefore not suitable for home freezing, but will keep perfectly for 2 full days in your fridge
