Bream is a wonderfully versatile fish. It can be kept simple with a hot pan, a little olive oil and a squeeze of lemon, or paired with bold Mediterranean and Asian-inspired flavours. The flesh remains beautifully moist when cooked and has a delicate sweetness that works with a huge variety of ingredients.

If you've not tried Bream before, this is a fantastic place to start.

Sweet, delicate and effortlessly delicious.

Did You Know...
Gilt Head Bream take their name from the distinctive golden band between their eyes, a feature that has made them instantly recognisable around the Mediterranean for centuries.

The scientific name Sparus aurata translates loosely as 'golden bream', a reference to this striking marking.

In ancient Rome, Bream were highly prized and were often kept in coastal ponds and lagoons close to wealthy households, making them one of Europe's oldest traditionally cultivated fish.

The golden stripe isn't just beautiful - it's been turning heads for thousands of years.

Bream is one of those fish that doesn't need much help.

Simply pan-fry the fillets in a little oil until the skin is crisp and golden, then finish with a squeeze of lemon and a scattering of fresh herbs for a quick, easy and delicious supper.

The delicate, sweet flavour also works beautifully with Asian-inspired ingredients. Why not try our Sea Bass with Crispy Ginger and Garlic recipe using Bream fillets instead? The combination works every bit as well and is packed with flavour.

If you'd like something even easier, try our super-garlicky marinated Bream fillets. Prepared by #TeamFish and supplied in an ovenable bag, all you need to do is pop them straight into the oven.

No preparation, no washing up and very happy diners.

Simple fish, simple cooking and spectacular results.
