With over 30% of our customers now placing orders for collection, I've had to implement a way of working to ensure that we are able to maintain our high standards for quality and service. You don’t have to pre-order, you can still come in and visit us, choosing whatever takes your fancy from our counters on the day. But, if you want to secure something that you simply can’t be without, the information below details how to get your order in the book

You don't have to order online, if you want to pick up 'today or tomorrow', or if the fish you're looking for isn't listed online, you can simply give us a call or send a text to 07354 849465 and we can help you and get your order sorted.  Because of the fees that we are charged for online orders, there is a minimum value of £10 for customers placing orders online, but you can order less than this by sending a text, or giving us a call on 07354 849465

You can order online by 10pm for collection 'the day after next'... To ensure we get the freshest fish delivered each morning, I buy ‘just enough’ to see us through each day. This means that we’re not carrying lots of extra stock overnight and ensures that the fish you select is the freshest, best quality available. ‘Last minute’ orders can have an impact on the amount I have available to offer customers who wish to visit without ordering, so it’s really important that I get the balance right. Placing an order online by 10pm on a Thursday means it can be collected on a Saturday, but if you've left it too late, just send us a text or give us a call - we'll do everything we can to help

Orders can be collected just after opening Although we open at 8am, the team often need additional time to prepare the huge numbers of orders being collected each day. As well as getting complex orders ready for pick up, we also have to prepare everything for our counters and make sure the shop is set up prior to opening. On Tuesdays we are 'starting from scratch' so need extra time to prepare all our ready to cook products and get our crabs and lobsters cooked and chilled. If you need to visit us early in the morning, there will always be full availability, so you could simply visit and choose from the display. If you would like to pick your order up before the allocated time on the day - send us a text to let us know and we'll try to help

If you change your mind / have to cancel your order We know things change and we want to work with you to help in any way we can. If you have to amend the date of your order a day or two before collection, just let us know and we can do this, its super easy. If you need to cancel your order, but don't want to just move the date, then we can do this as long as you let us know 48 hours before. We will deduct a £3 admin fee to all cancelled orders that were placed online and refund the rest of the value of the payment you have made. This is because, as a business, we are charged a flat rate of £2 fee for every order placed online, and also a percentage of the value of your order. The £3 that we deduct for cancelled orders will mostly cover the cost of the charges we incurred when you placed your order online, but not entirely.

You can skip the long queues and visit our Customer Order Collection Point If you stand across the road looking at the shop, you'll see that we occupy 2 units. The right hand side is open fronted and usually has lots of people queuing to be served, especially at weekends. The left hand side has a glass door, marked 'CUSTOMER ORDER COLLECTION POINT'. If you just want to collect your order, please feel free to come to the collection point door. If you are collecting an order, but want to add additional iems on the day, come into the main shop and we can access your order while you select your additional goodies.

On very busy days and weekends there may be an early cut-off Once I feel that we have reached capacity for any given day I will close the order book. Our daily delivery of freshly landed fish arrives at around 5am and there is a limit to the number of orders the team can prepare without having an impact on our service. If you are planning to order I recommend that you let us know as soon as possible to avoid disappointment

CHRISTMAS - this is the BIG ONE! Its best to try to get your order in by around the 15th December, although please don't order until you know exactly what you need, amedning orders is always more complicated than getting them right first time round. I may have to close the book extra early, if our maximum capacity has been reached. The team will do everything possible to be able to assist our customers with their Christmas requirements, but once the book has closed we will be unable to accept any additional orders.

Here’s how you can get in touch…

Call, text or WhatsApp us on 07354 849465 and one of the team will capture your details, collection date and requirements and advise you on what is likely to be available. We may ask you if you have an alternative if your preferred choice is unlikely to be available. At busy times when we're all serving customers in the shop the phone may not be answered quickly - try to avoid between 11am and 2pm when we're at our busiest. Text is always best because we can pick these up as soon as the queues die down.

OR… send an email with your ‘wish list’ to info@passionateaboutfish.co.uk listing everything you’d like, portion sizes and any preparation you require on whole fish. Please include your contact details to allow us to get in touch if we need to confirm anything. If you do email you will always receive a confirmation within 48 hours that your order has been received. If you don’t get this, you need to call – something’s gone wrong…

As fish availability changes day to day we never know what we’ve managed to buy until around 8am the day before, when the fish has been selected by our buyers off the coastal auctions. We don’t publish product lists as its an ever moving feast and changes day to day, sometimes hour to hour! It is always a good idea to consider an alternative if your first choice isn’t available.
