People come a long way for our delicious Leigh-on-Sea cockles and we completely understand why. Plump, juicy, salty and ridiculously moreish, they’re one of those things you start picking at and suddenly realise you’ve eaten rather a lot!

Cockles are traditional British seaside food. Enjoy them simply with a splash of vinegar and a little white pepper, add them to a seafood platter, or just eat them straight from the fridge whenever the urge strikes.

Ours have been frozen to capture them at their best, so once defrosted they should be kept refrigerated and enjoyed within a couple of days. Want a stash at home? Just ask us for one of our 1kg frozen bags and you can dip into them whenever you fancy.

Did you know… Leigh-on-Sea in Essex has been associated with cockle fishing for generations. Its famous cockle sheds sit beside the old fishing village, where cockles remain very much part of the town’s identity... a lovely little piece of British seaside food heritage.
