From pot to plate, Andrew’s Catch is a true taste of the Cornish coast - honest, fresh and completely unique to The Fish Shop.

We count ourselves incredibly lucky to have Andrew Stevens as our very own fisherman. He’s based in Cornwall and we’ve built a truly special relationship over the years , one that makes 'Andrew’s Catch' one of the most loved and trusted names on our counter.

Andrew is predominantly a lobster fisherman, hauling his pots between Newlyn and Lamorna aboard his 19ft Cygnus, Benediction. He’s brilliant at what he does and highly respected within the fishing community.

When we first opened, Andrew supplied a handful of fishmongers, all competing for his catch. In early 2015, he asked if we’d like exclusive supply, meaning every lobster he landed would come straight to us. It was a big decision at the time, not knowing if we could keep up with his summer volumes, but we said yes, and it’s still one of the best decisions we’ve ever made.

From April to October, Andrew is busy baiting and dropping his pots for Cornish lobsters, and when the spider crab season begins in early June, he also casts nets for those weird but wonderful creatures.

As summer fades and lobster landings slow, he switches gear and starts fishing for mackerel, bass, pollack and sole — and again, we take whatever he catches. In less than 20 hours, his fish go from sea to shop counter, and when you see 'Andrew’s Catch' on the ticket, you know it couldn’t be fresher unless you’d caught it yourself.

Andrew shares regular updates from the water on social media, and he pops into the shop a few times a year to catch up with the team and chat with customers - something we all look forward to.
