We're seeing some amazing landings with so much variability in price that I'm keeping website ordering switched off for a few more days. There have been huge price drops across the board with fishermen catching big volumes on Wild Bass, Wild Bream, all the flat fish and lots more. Panko bread crumbs are made from a special white bread. The name comes from the Japanese pan for bread and ko for flour.

Crunchy Kikkoman Panko bread crumb coating is a must-have in every kitchen. It's suitable for cooking, baking, roasting or deep-frying, and it makes everything exceptionally crispy. Because it's finely ground and dried, panko flakes are lighter and airier than conventional bread crumbs. And because it absorbs less oil and fat, the texture is noticeably crunchier.

A sweet secret: Kikkoman Panko bread crumbs contain no seasoning, so they're also ideal for desserts too. Tart bases become crispier, and deep-fried desserts are given a deliciously crunchy coating.

To use Panko as a coating for fried fish, dredge the fish lightly in flour. Combine a lightly beaten egg with a tablespoon of water, and coat the fish with the egg mixture. Press the fish into a plate of Panko. Fry in oil until golden brown.
