'Proper' Valencian Paella Rice

If you’re making paella (and you’re buying your seafood from us), this is the rice you want.

Bahia is a traditional short-grain rice grown in Valencia’s Albufera Natural Park, the home of proper Spanish paella. It’s brilliantly absorbent, soaking up all the flavour from your stock, saffron and smoked paprika while still holding its shape and bite.

It doesn’t go mushy.
It doesn’t clump.
It just does exactly what good paella rice should do.

It expands beautifully, locking in flavour and staying loose and separate — whether you’re making a classic seafood paella, a richer caldoso (slightly soupy) rice, or something creamy and comforting.

Often seen as a fantastic alternative to Bomba, it’s a little more forgiving and a bit easier to handle which makes it ideal for home cooks who want big flavour without stressing over it.

Trust us, get the rice right and the rest is easy.

Cooking guide:
Use roughly 1 part rice to 2½ parts good stock. Then leave it alone - no stirring!
