Cockles (Frozen)

Fresh cockles are in season from June to September, and these little seaside treats are caught at their best, gently processed and frozen so they can be enjoyed all year round.

Ours come from either Osbournes or Deal Bros both exceptional cockle producers in Leigh-on-Sea, an area with a long and proud cockle-fishing tradition. Known for their quality and care, our cockles are always plump, sweet and full of clean, briny flavour.

Freezing locks in that freshness, meaning these cockles defrost beautifully and are ready to use in salads, classic cockle dishes, pasta, chowders or simply enjoyed with a splash of vinegar and a bit of white bread.


Did you know… Leigh-on-Sea cockles are harvested from the Thames Estuary mudflats, where the unique mix of saltwater and nutrients produces particularly sweet, meaty cockles prized by chefs and shellfish lovers alike.
