These delicious shortcrust pastry tartlets are filled with either our kiln roast salmon and spinach or smoked haddock, gently combined with a rich creamy sauce and finished with a savoury Parmesan crumb topping. The buttery pastry provides the perfect contrast to the creamy filling, whilst the smoky fish adds depth and character to every bite.

Perfect as a light lunch, elegant starter or served alongside a crisp salad for an effortless supper.

The word tartlet simply means a small tart, but don't let the name fool you.

For centuries, pastry cases have been used to hold everything from sweet custards to rich savoury fillings, making them one of the most versatile dishes in European cooking. A good tartlet should be crisp, buttery and sturdy enough to hold a generous filling - exactly as it should be.

Proof that good things often come in small packages.

Place the tartlets onto a baking tray and cook until piping hot throughout and the pastry is crisp and golden.

Kiln Roast Salmon Tartlets: Cook for approximately 18-20 minutes.
Smoked Haddock Tartlets: Cook for approximately 22-25 minutes.

As all ovens vary, keep an eye on the pastry during cooking. If it is colouring a little too quickly, simply reduce the temperature slightly or loosely cover with a piece of foil whilst the filling finishes heating through.

Allow to stand for a minute or two before serving.

Serving Suggestions
Perfect served with a crisp green salad, roasted cherry tomatoes or buttered new potatoes.

For a simple lunch, add a handful of mixed leaves and a wedge of lemon. Equally delicious enjoyed warm as a starter before a seafood feast.
