Possibly one of the UK’s favourites and definitely a staple for Fish and Chips, our beautiful large sides of stunning fresh Cod are delivered each morning. You may have read recently that the price of cod has doubled in the last year, this is due to a decrease in quotas and has had a huge impact on availability and prices.

On arrival our thick cod fillets are fully trimmed and de-boned by our fishmongers and we will always select chunky portions for our customers, using the tails for fish pies and fishcakes.

With large flakes and a delicate flavour, cod is truly versatile and can be used in any recipe that calls for ‘white fish’
Occasionally, if fishing is particularly poor around the South West, we have the option of buying some equally superb Shetland Cod and we will sometimes purchase this if our Newlyn source is unavailable for a few days.

We really love this take on a Sophie Grigson coated cod recipe - it’s really easy but super delicious and you don't have to get all worked up about quantities - just add whatever you think looks right, if you like it super-garlicky, fill your boots

Season portions of cod with a little salt and cracked pepper pepper.
Mix some white breadcrumbs with freshly chopped parsley, garlic, lemon zest, salt and pepper, then add melted butter and lemon juice. Mix thoroughly with your fingers.
Pop the cod in an ovenproof dish and press the herby garlicky crumbs firmly onto the cod to form an even crust.
Pop into a 200'c oven for around 18-20 minutes until the crust has browned
