Andrew Stevens is our very own fisherman and we are so very lucky to have had the opportunity to create and nurture this very unique relationship. Andrew is predominantly a Lobster Fisherman, hauling his pots around the coast between Newlyn & Lamorna. He’s very successful at what he does and respected within the fishing industry.

When we first opened, Andrew was supplying a few fishmongers all nagging him for some of his catch. He approached Sue early in 2015, asking if she would like exclusive and 100% supply. This was a huge decision to make, not knowing if we would be able to ‘keep up’ with volume Andrew catches through peak season, but we decided to give it a go. And, it had definitely been one of the best decisions we’ve ever made!

From April until October Andrew sets out on Benediction, his 19ft cygnus, baiting and dropping his pots to catch our Cornish Lobsters. In early June the spider season starts, and as well as lobsters, Andrew casts some nets and catches these weird, but wonderful creatures.

When the lobsters slow down at the end of the summer, Andrew switches his gear over to mackerel, bass, pollack and sole, and again, we take whatever fish he pulls in. In less than 20 hours, the fish is out of the ocean and on our counter and customers know, when they see ‘Andrew’s Catch’ on the ticket, that they couldn’t get fresher unless they caught it themselves.
