Easter 2025

HAPPY EASTER!

The online order book has now closed for collections over the Easter Weekend, but we will still have lots of fish and shellfish available for you to come and select from our counters. We open at 8am each morning and we'll have good availability at the start of each day, but with many people visiting we will run out of things as the morning progresses. On Friday and Saturday we will be closing at 1pm

You can send a text to 07354 849465 to find out about availability, but please bear in mind it is going to be really busy in the shop so I will respond as soon as I can but it may be 'after hours'.

If I don't see you over the weekend, I hope you have the most wonderful Easter, and remember, we will be closed on Tuesday 22nd due to Bank Holiday Monday.

Depending on the size of the cod available, this will be one or 2 pieces of a similar size

The loin is taken from the very thickest part of the fillet. It's totally boneless and available as large pieces or individual portions.

Our beautiful large sides of stunning fresh Cod are delivered each morning. On arrival then fillets are fully trimmed and de-boned by our fishmongers, selecting the very thickest pieces to cut the premium loins from. With large flakes and a delicate flavour, cod is truly versatile and can be used in any recipe that calls for ‘white fish’

Occasionally, if fishing is particularly poor around the South West, we have the option of buying some equally superb Shetland Cod and we will sometimes purchase this if our Newlyn source is unavailable for a few days.

We love really simple, delicious recipes and this Mediterranean style coated cod with lemon and garlic ticks every box
You’ll need 1 chunky portion of cod per person
Flour to coat, add a little ground coriander and cumin, sweet paprika, and a little salt and pepper to create a fabulous coating
Equal quantities of lemon juice, olive oil, melted butter to make the ‘pre-coating’/lemon drizzle
Lots of garlic

Mix your coating and ‘pre-coating’ in separate dishes. Dip your cod portions in the pre-coating, then straight into the flour, fully covering the fish
Pan-fry over a medium heat to give it some colour, then drizzle with the remaining ‘pre-coating’ lemony sauce, add the garlic and pop in a 180’c oven for around 10-12 minutes #’Enjoy

Allow 200g per person for a generous portion
