Rockfish British Mackerel

Proper British fish, treated with the care it deserves.

Rockfish take beautifully fat British mackerel and send it to a small artisan cannery in Asturias, northern Spain, where generations of expertise in preserving seafood still very much means doing things by hand. The fish is carefully prepared, steamed, skinned and packed before being preserved... a world away from mass-produced tinned fish.

We have two versions:

British Mackerel - tender, rich mackerel preserved simply in sunflower oil, allowing the flavour of the fish to do the talking.

British Mackerel Escabeche - the same beautiful mackerel preserved in a light, gently tangy pickle. Fresh, bright and particularly good with crusty bread or as part of a tapas-style spread.

Both are completely boneless and skinless, and brilliant to have in the cupboard for an instant lunch, salads, toast, pasta or simply opened and eaten exactly as they are.
