These are where the Rockfish tinned fish story began, beautiful Mount's Bay sardines from Cornwall, prepared simply and properly.

The sardines are carefully prepared by hand, gently steamed, laid into tins and preserved in sunflower oil with just a little salt. The result is a wonderfully plump, succulent sardine with a rich flavour and soft texture, a world away from the idea of sardines as merely a sandwich filling.

They’re incredibly versatile. Serve simply with good bread and lemon, add to salads, stir through pasta, pile onto toast or include as part of a tapas spread. They’re also rather good eaten straight from the tin.

Did You Know?

Mount’s Bay sits on the south coast of Cornwall around Penzance and Newlyn, one of Britain’s great fishing areas. Sardines landed here have long been an important part of Cornwall’s fishing heritage, although for generations we knew them rather better as Cornish pilchards.
